A Champion Cat must defeat 200 other Champions and earn 200 points to win the title Grand Champion. Also, a Champion cat must have at least one win of Best Champion, or Second Best Champion or Third best Champion or a final award of Best through Fifteenth Best Cat in either a CFA specialty or Allbreed final in order to qualify for the title of Grand Champion. A cat must first earn six Winners ribbons in class competition (same breed) to earn the title Champion and then be eligible to compete in Allbreed Championship. Six winners ribbons is fairly easy to win if there are no other competing cats of the same sex and color and the cat in question does not possess a major disqualifying fault; however it is difficult to earn the necessary 200 points required to win the title Grand Champion.
